Johannes Stüttgen, known as an artist, lecturer, and author for his work on Social Sculpture, speaks about the role of art as a question of its very definition. According to the research of Joseph Beuys (1921–1986), the world-renowned German sculptor and performance artist of the last third of the 20th century, the concept of art in the present and future refers to all human work and activity, that is, to the shaping/reshaping of society as a whole, in which every person—as an artist—participates responsibly. The lecture took place on November 27, 2018, as part of the Bronnbach Winter series at KIT—an information event about the Bronnbach Fellowship, held on the occasion of its third call for applications at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. As a counterpart to the Bronnbach Autumn at the University of Mannheim, the Bronnbach Winter at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) serves as a platform for lectures by distinguished speakers from the fields of business and culture.
