This song came from looking back at a time when life felt simpler. Catching bait with the cast net behind the cemetery. Fishing from the pontoon at Bray Park. Launching the boat at Broadacres on the incoming tide. Dropping crab pots around South Trees and coming home with half a dozen big fellas. It was cold beers, snags cooking, music playing through a Bluetooth speaker, the kids running around and the dogs charging through the shallows at Canoe Point. It was exploring the back tracks, driving down Lilley’s Beach, fishing behind the islands and watching another beautiful Queensland afternoon disappear across the water. At the time, it probably felt like everyday life. Now I realise how bloody lucky we were. Living This Good is not just about a beautiful coastal place. It is about missing the life we had there, the freedom, the family time, the mates, the fishing and those ordinary weekends that became some of the best memories of my life.
