As a result, English was a major drag on my score in the National Center Test, and I completely failed. I was disappointed that I couldn't get into my first-choice university. I enrolled in Fukuoka University of Education. Although I was not good at English, I didn't dislike it, so I joined an English club and interacted with international students. However, even then, I was frustrated by my inability to speak English as well as I wanted, and my longing for those who could speak English grew even stronger. During my studies, I went on a one-month exchange program to Australia. I dreamed of going abroad! I thought I would become fluent in English after studying there! But in the end, I didn't acquire any English skills at all; I didn't even become fluent. All I gained was weight, not English proficiency. During my high school teaching practice to obtain my teaching license, I realized that "teaching something to others is fun!" After graduation, I worked as an English instructor at a major cram school in Kyushu. While I was able to teach grammar and other subjects to children, my inability to speak English at all was a source of insecurity.
