"Heavy Weight" is the song we open every. single. show with. It's a feel good tune that we can settle into with each other, and this is the tune we also opened up our live album party at Pink Moon in Knoxville, TN with. "Heavy Weight" started out as "Heavyweight," a solo tune that I wrote and recorded (hi, Redd here!) on my first and only solo album, Monsters and Mothers. We had to change the name as it was already listed under the one-word "heavyweight." My sophomore English students at L&N STEM Academy helped me write this tune after completing a unit study on The Merchant of Venice, a Shakespearean Play. We are so excited to be releasing songs from our Live in Studio Album, Appalachian Bell Jar. We recorded these tunes at Pink Moon Sound--a local, Knoxville, Tennessee studio, with our friends and family.
