Dr Strange Costume Tutorial Cape
So finally getting back to the Dr. Strange costume tutorial with the cape. As much as I like the comic book version of the cape with the gold stripes, I decided to go ahead and create the movie version instead. It's difficult to find exact matches for the materials used on the cape, so just find the closest you can. The design is pretty recognizable, so the textures don't have to be an exact match. There were also several different textures and prints on the back, I just simplified it a lot, and narrowed it down to the just the two types of material to make it easier. The checkerboard pattern on the lining actually has more colors and a bigger pattern than the fabric that I used, but this was the closest I could find in my local fabric store. This cape does require a fair bit of sewing, but if you're not confident with a sewing machine, you can always just fabric glue everything together. MATERIALS NEEDED: Red fabric (I used a little over 3 yards, but you may need more depending on your height) Checkerboard fabric for the lining (same amount as cape) 1 foot of textured fabric for trim 6 inches of pellon (and long enough to go around your collar) Pins Sewing machine or fabric glue Needle and gray thread (to sew on silver clasps at collar) Scissors More Dr. Strange Tutorials: Dr. Strange Magic Disk Tutorial: • DIY Dr Strange Costume Easy Magic Circle ...
