Testing the Suomi Piikkisika TLR studded 29er tyres (2025)
We compared the new Suomi Piikkisika TLR tyres in 29x2.6 and 29x2.25 to an older and wider Piikkisika. Ice grip and behaviour at speed is excellent on the new tyres. For riding in soft snow, tyre width matters a lot. We would pick the new Piikkisika in widest version possible. Not all bikes will fit the 29x2.8" tyre in the rear frame though. The 2.6" version should work on most bikes, but you might be limited to the 2.25" version on some of the lighter and less burly bikes. All three sizes are equally great on ice, but a wider tyre offers more stability and won't sink as deep into the surface when riding snow. #mtb #emtb #biketyre
