Inteligência Emocional

Emotional Intelligence Understanding and Managing Emotions Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one's own emotions, as well as to perceive and respect the feelings of others. Developing this skill is fundamental to improving relationships, making more conscious decisions, dealing with challenges, and building a healthier coexistence both at school and in personal and professional life. In this activity, students will be introduced to the concept of emotional intelligence and its five main competencies: self-awareness, which is the ability to recognize one's own emotions; self-control, related to the ability to manage feelings and impulses; self-motivation, which involves the ability to maintain focus and persistence in the face of difficulties; empathy, which consists of understanding the feelings and perspectives of other people; and social skills, fundamental for communication, cooperation, and building positive relationships. By analyzing everyday school situations, students will be encouraged to reflect on the relationship between emotions, behaviors, and decisions, perceiving how feelings such as anger, fear, anxiety, joy, or frustration can influence their attitudes and interpersonal relationships. The Emotional Thermometer activity will allow each student to identify how they usually react in different situations of pressure, conflict, or stress, fostering the development of emotional self-awareness and the ability to create strategies to better cope with daily challenges. In addition, the proposal encourages the practice of dialogue, listening, empathy, and respect for the emotions of classmates, contributing to a more welcoming, collaborative, and emotionally healthy school environment. The activity is aligned with the general competencies of the BNCC (Brazilian National Curriculum Base), especially General Competency 8 (Self-Awareness and Self-Care) and General Competency 9 (Empathy and Cooperation), promoting the development of socio-emotional skills necessary for life in society, for academic success, and for building students' life projects.
