On a recent trip to San Francisco, I visited Alcatraz Island, and I loved it! The history of Alcatraz as a prison was interesting, but I was equally thrilled to get to see the beautiful gardens and birds on the Rock. Many of the buildings are crumbling, but the backdrop of the San Francisco Bay and the city lent an air of charm, making them beautiful against the blue sky and water.
