🎣 Buscábamos BLACKBASS… pero los LUCIOS se volvieron LOCOS

On May 29th, we went bass fishing from a float tube under conditions that, on paper, seemed perfect. Over 30°C, the water was warming up quickly, and we were eager to find some active bass. The plan was to focus on bass, but the day had other plans… From the very first casts, pike started appearing again and again. What was supposed to be a bass day turned into a frenzy of pike attacks, with chases, unexpected strikes, and plenty of action all day long. The problem was that I wasn't specifically prepared for them. I only had two pieces of equipment: 🎣 An Ultralight rod for the finest presentations. 🎣 A Medium Heavy rod for working heavier lures. Without leaders specifically designed for pike or tackle intended for their teeth, every catch was a real challenge. Some fish managed to reach the float tube, but others ended up cutting the line or getting away during the fight, leaving us with the feeling that they could have been some of the best fish of the day. One of those days that starts with one idea and ends up being completely different, proving once again that in fishing you never know what awaits you on the next cast.
