I have finally gotten back the motivation that I needed to get back into music and why not announce my return on the 24th anniversary of the most inspirational album in my life, “Iowa”. Wow. It’s been a long, hard, and just pure crazy past few months. Lots of learning and experiences. Lots of people have coming and going but we’re here. Still breathing. Still driven. Still have those around me who really matter. I’ve been itching to make this announcement for the past month now. I have had this video in the vault since last year when I had re-done the other Iowa covers. When I first ran into it, I had still been in a deep depression and struggling to find what I wanted to do. I was very close to deleting it but decided to keep it just a bit longer. Sometime in June, I had gone back to it. Worked on the video here and there. Then it started there. The fire had started to burn again slowly. Then I picked up the mic and laid a few vocals tracks down. I was very rusty, and struggled to keep up with myself but I felt that release of anger I needed. I almost got discouraged and told myself maybe this isn’t for me anymore but I reminded myself why I had even continued to do music for so long. The release. It was my coping mechanism since I started vocals. From there twice a week, I would record vocals just for fun and to get back my skills and abilities to scream this way again. Early this August, I had gotten my love and skills for music again. I felt comfortable with the vocals you are hearing now and even though (to myself) they aren’t the best I could do, it is a start. I just have to keep the ball rollin’. It was also hard coming back with a new cover knowing I had left on a very, very good note ( the “Disasterpiece” cover). We are here. If you stayed during my absence, I really appreciate you. You stayed for a reason. Whatever your reason is, I am thankful for you being here.
