The Hamsters - Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) & Hey Joe, Butlin's Rock'n'Blues Festival, Skegness 2011

We'd toured in late 2010, just performing the music of Jimi Hendrix for the 40th anniversary of his passing (and released a 2CD set of the tour). We always took pretty much all of January off every year, but this festival was usually at the end of January too, so was always happening on our first weekend back. As we hadn't played any of our regular sets since September, and not having performed for a month, stuck with what we were most familiar with at the time and played a full Hendrix set - before we settled back into our usual routine the following week. (Any additional grimaces from Slim were because he hadn't played all month and his fingertips were as soft as hell and bloody painful!)
