Keshorn Walcott Wins Javelin Gold; Jereem Richards Claims 400M Silver At Worlds

Trinidad and Tobago Olympians Keshorn Walcott and Jereem Richards won gold and silver in their respective finals in the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan. Walcott won the Men’s Javelin Final with a season’s best throw of 88.16 metres. His gold comes thirteen years after his gold medal triumph at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He finished ahead of second-place Anderson Peters of Grenada and Curtis Thompson of the USA, who placed third. Later, in the Men’s 400 Metres Final, Jereem Richards, who ran in lane two, finished second with a personal best time of 43.72 seconds. Richards, who was the only runner from the 400-metres final at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, finished behind first-place Botswana runner Collen Kebinatshipi.
