Crusader 60. A Model Aircraft Engine You Can Build Without Castings. Ep.2 - The Crankshaft
#modelaircraft #nitroengine The Crusader 60 is a 0.6 cubic inch (10cc) model aircraft engine designed by George Genevro, a prolific and highly regarded designer and builder of model aircraft engines. It was described in a series of build articles in the "Home Shop Machinist" magazine in 2005. The engine can be made from flat bar and round stock and requires no castings. It is similar to the Titan 60 engine that I built in this playlist • The Titan 60 Glow Plug Engine In this episode I machine the crankshaft from 1045 medium carbon steel bar stock. If you would like your own copy of the Crusader 2D drawings and the Solidworks files you can follow this link https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ojddxs... and download what you need. There is also a full assembly saved as a STEP file which is a generic 3D model format which is compatible with many common 3D modelling programmes. A disclaimer.... there may be some missing dimensions. I will update the drawings as I make each part and overwrite the original files so check back regularly for the most up to date versions.
