I Fired Up an 80s CB Radio in 2026… Here’s What Happened!
This week I’m trying something a little different — CB radio in 2026! 🎙️ With the Stranger Things finale bringing 80s nostalgia back into the spotlight, I decided to see if anyone’s still using Citizens Band radio here in the UK. Armed with a REALISTIC TRC-1005 handheld from the 1980s and a modern PNI CB rig installed in the pickup truck, I hit the airwaves to find out if CB radio is still alive and kicking. We’ll test both radios, call out on a few channels, and see what kind of response we get — or if it’s just me talking to myself in 2026! 😂 🎙️ Radio: REALISTIC TRC-1005 handheld / PNI CB mobile📡 Power: 4W (legal CB limit)🪫 Setup: Handheld / vehicle-mounted📍 Location: Various, Bedfordshire Whether you’re a nostalgic CB operator or just curious about how this old-school radio tech holds up today, this one’s for you. 👉 Radio For Us — Amateur radio without the gatekeeping. #CBradio #hamradio #RadioForUs #CBradioUK #strangerthings #amateurradio #radioadventure #realistictrc1005 #PNIcb #radiocommunication #retro #1980s
