History of the Irish Coffee: The Irish Coffee was created in the 1940's by Joe Sheridan, who was a chef at Foynes Port near Limerick, Ireland. On one night of particularly bag weather, a whole fleet of passengers had to be diverted back to the airbase. Joe decided to whip up an Irish coffee for the weary passengers. The story goes the name came about because one of the passengers asked "is this Brazilian coffee?" to which Joe replied "No, "that's Irish Coffee." and thus the Irish Coffee was born!
