After eight years as a junior high school Japanese language teacher, Itsuki became a haiku poet. In addition to her creative endeavors, she is active in a wide range of fields, including haiku classes (live haiku gatherings) and helping to found the "Haiku Koshien" competition. She is also active on TV and radio, appearing in the haiku segment of TBS's "Pre-Bato!!"
