50 Jahre im Dienst der Satellitenkommuniation Das Radom in Raisting, Deutschland - Unravel Travel TV

On June 28, 1965, exactly 50 years ago, intercontinental public telephone service began via the Intelsat I satellite. On German soil, the signals were transmitted via the now-listed Raisting earth station. This anniversary is also significant because Raisting is the last satellite station of its generation that is still fully functional today. The video shows historical footage from the construction of the radome, interviews with contemporary witnesses from the early years of operation, the renovation in 2010, and ongoing research projects. The video is available with German commentary and as an IT version.
