"Es una locura visual, una locura olfativa": rescatista describe el dramático panorama en Venezuela
Four days after the earthquake that shook Venezuela, the situation in La Guaira is becoming increasingly critical. This state has become the main gathering point where dozens of people are seeking shelter, food, and the possibility of communicating with their families through a limited internet service. John Wilson, a volunteer rescuer, shared his heartbreaking testimony after working tirelessly for three consecutive days in the search efforts. "The truth is, this is something else, a visual madness, an olfactory madness, madness in every way you want to see it," recounted the young man, who showed evident signs of physical and emotional exhaustion. During his work in more than 30 collapsed buildings, Wilson was unable to find a single person alive. "Every day they were pulling out 5 or 6 bodies, every single day, and of those 5 or 6 bodies there was always one or two that were impossible to remove due to the sheer amount of rubble burying them," he explained. The rescuer expressed concern for public health, warning that "if these bodies are not removed quickly and promptly in the coming days, it could become a major public health catastrophe in the country." #NTN24 | More information at http://www.ntn24.com | Or in Venezuela at http://www.ntn24america.com Subscribe to our channel: / ntn24 Follow us on social media!
