China has a new target for new energy vehicles (NEVs), which include both all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. By 2030, they should make up 30% of China’s total car fleet. This week, China achieved two Guinness World Records for NEVs. Firstly, the Geely Galaxy A7 EM set a new record for the longest journey achieved by a PHEV on a full charge and a full tank of fuel. Then the Aion RT achieved the lowest energy consumption for a production EV on a high-speed loop route. In June, China exported more than a million vehicles for the first time ever in a single month.
