Suwannee County, Florida Deputy Pete Merola arrests a disabled Vietnam veteran, Wade Morton, for DUI. Prior to the arrest, the veteran denied a Field Sobriety Test and requested a breathalyzer, but his request was ignored, and he was placed in handcuffs. After questioning him and his wife further, the police realized that all he had drunk was Dr Pepper and water. Due to Officer Merola's poor communication skills and incompetence, he had technically arrested the combat veteran for drinking soda as opposed to alcohol. In this video, we examine what went wrong in this 4th amendment violation, false arrest, and poor treatment of a 78-year-old disabled combat veteran.
