Dolly Parton Returns to Dollywood! Opening Day 2026 Parade, Shows & Huge Crowds

It’s Opening Day at Dollywood, and the 2026 season kicked off in a big way with the Queen of Dollywood herself — Dolly Parton — at the park! We were invited to attend Dollywood’s media day, where Dolly Parton and Dollywood Parks & Resorts President Eugene Naughton gave a roughly 30-minute “state of the union” about the park. They talked about where Dollywood is today, what’s coming in the future, updates on the upcoming new ride, and what Dolly has been working on. As always, Dolly had the room laughing with her stories and humor. After the presentation, we spent the day enjoying everything that makes Opening Day at Dollywood special. We grabbed lunch, watched the Dolly Parade (which meant we got to see Dolly twice in one day!), and checked out several shows around the park.
