The French Cartoon That Got Too Ambitious
Wakfu was one of my favorite shows growing up. The world and characters were so interesting to me as a kid that I've had fond memories of the show for most of my life. I recently had some time to waste so I decided to go back through and rewatch all of Wakfu through season 3. While seasons one and two were pretty much exactly like how I expected them to be, Season 3 was a complete curveball. The show adopted a significantly different story structure, and made a couple of extremely bold decisions regarding it’s characters and world. But overall, despite being the most technically impressive and surprising, I kinda enjoyed season 3 less than the previous two of the show. It attempted things that seasons one and two could only dream of, but it failed to pay those things off in a way that actually felt worthwhile. 0:00 Intro 1:23 Background of Wakfu 3:24 Ruel 6:09 Dally 9:30 Yugo & Oropo 13:23 Yugo & Amalia 17:15 The Writing
