Former pour sauver : la chirurgie désormais disponible dans les hôpitaux de district du Burundi
In Burundi, 48 trained healthcare professionals are now ready to work in 18 district hospitals. Costly transfers to Bujumbura are a thing of the past: surgical emergencies are now accessible locally and more quickly, saving more lives. Thanks to a collaboration between Enabel and the Ministry of Public Health, these doctors, operating room nurses, and anesthesiologists received specialized training that is tangibly transforming access to healthcare for local populations. Since their return to their hospitals, the impact is already visible: services previously unavailable are now accessible to all.
