Best $7 Snare Mod: DIY Drummer
Looking for easy ways to improve your snare drum on the cheap? Try installing some nylon washers or as I found some nylon sleeves. This will help reduce the metal on metal contact point between the tension rods and the rims which also makes tuning feel smoother. I scored these for just over $7 from my local Ace hardware store. This is a great modification you can do on all of your drums not just the snare drum! Size: #10 Screw I.D. - .200" Shank O.D. - .260" Shank Length - .375" Flange Diameter - .399" ***Edit: I went back for more and these are actually $.43 each not $.34. So I apologize for the correction. They were in the wrong bin. So it was $8 and change not $7. Let me know what you think!
