In this video, Mr. Bui Kien Thanh, a nearly 100-year-old economist who was an advisor to three generations of Vietnamese prime ministers and contributed to shaping Vietnam's Doi Moi policy, recounts his life journey with many twists and turns that few have. From childhood memories in Quang Nam, to the creative career of his father - Dr. Tin as a pharmacist with cough medicine, constipation medicine, extremely "viral" slogans and marketing methods that are not inferior to today, Mr. Thanh grew up with the spirit of innovation. Then came the journey to study abroad at Columbia University, becoming the first Vietnamese to study finance in the US, with the dream of contributing to his homeland. He was one of the people who laid the foundation for Central Resolution 6 (1986), paving the way for a multi-sector economy, helping Vietnam dramatically transform from crisis to growth. Not only looking back, he also shared his vision for the next 100 years for Vietnam: from geopolitical position, to the potential for technology development at Silicon Hiland - Lam Dong, and his belief in the young generation to be the ones to lead the new journey.
