British 25Kv EMUs Classes 312 to 319 between 1992 & 2000
This video illustrates many of the EMUs that operated in southern England mainly north of London at 25Kv from overhead wires and were built by BREL York between 1976 and 1990. Included are classes 312, 313, 315, 317/1 as well as 319/0, /1, /3 & /4. The class 319 units were dual voltage operating at 25Kv from overhead wires (north of the Thames) and at 750V DC from the third rail (south of the Thames). The change between the two voltages is seen on several trains at Farringdon station.
