The blank for them was specially made geometrically correct figures: a cube and a ball. The geometric correctness and beauty of stellar figures depends on the accuracy of their manufacture. This surface finish is obtained from under the cutter.   Strictly speaking, these products are not pure stellar figures. These figures have additional elements. But then these products are made only on a lathe.    By setting the cutting edge at different angles and changing the depth of cut, you can change the shape of these elements and get many different configurations.   In such a rather complicated way, you can make a star dodecahedron on a lathe.
