Hard Bashed TRX 3.3 Final Disassembly - Failure analysis & Reliability Findings

This motor was brought back to life from a 10+ year old marketplace truck find. It was gummed up upon me getting it. It was cleaned, and rebuilt with new traxxas bearings. 1. First traxxas rear bearing lasted roughly 2.5 gallons before audible noise was heard. This one had a plastic cage 2. Second traxxas rear bearing exploded internally after roughly 2 gallons being ran. This one had a metal cage. 3. Crank case work was done to help flow fuel into the rear bearing / front bearing. 4. Third traxxas rear bearing looks really good after 2 gallons of run time, and arguably much harder run time than the previous 4.5 gallons ran. This one has a plastic cage. The crankcase work helped! 5. Rod split completely. Never replaced. This rod most likely had over 9 gallons of fuel thru it based on the fact that I put this engine together with the piston stopping .65mm from the top of the sleeve. 6. LC4 plug was still functional (but ready to be replaced) after 3 gallons or so of run time. This plug experienced a bearing failure, rod split, and 260f+ consistent runtime. This motor was ran with 30% nitro, and 12% klotz oil.
