Saga Furs is not a retail store but a prominent auction house that sources and sells furs to designers and manufacturers. While it had a presence in New York in 1988, its core operations were and are in Finland.The Saga Furs brand name is typically found on high-quality furs sold by other manufacturers or retailers. Because Saga Furs does not maintain a single retail location, a fur garment featuring their label in 1988 would have been sold by one of the many furriers and high-end department stores operating in New York City at the time. For example, Revillon sold their furs through an arrangement with Saks 5th Avenue and Fred The Furrier's Fur Vault throught Alexanders and Macy's. In 1988, Revillon was located at a showroom on the 9th floor of 333 Seventh Avenue in New York City in the heart of the Garment Industry.
