CONTINUITY TESTING AND INSULATION RESISTANCE TESTING – THE DIFFERENCES - THE REASONS – AND MORE

A question that was asked recently … Why do we test a copper conductor for continuity and expect a low-ohms reading about 1 or 2 ohms … AND THEN … why do we test the same conductor at 500 volts and expect the reading in millions of ohms? What has changed, why are the tests different if this is still the same piece of copper conductor? So, in this video we will look at the differences between continuity testing and insulation resistance testing and answer this question.
