How To Sharpen Woodturning Tools With The Robert Sorby Pro Edge
First in a new series on Sharpening. In this video we cover the set up and use of the Robert Sorby Pro edge to sharpen the following woodturning tools: Bowl Gouge (standard/traditional grind) Spindle Gouge (standard/traditional grind) Spindle Roughing Gouge Skew chisel Round Nosed Scraper Parting Tool Bowl Gouge (fingernail/Irish grind) The Pro Edge is manufactured in Sheffield England and is based on the machines that they use to profile their own tools. All Woodturning tools are produced with a 'flat' grind. The Pro edge replicates this and is quick and easy to change between angles. This machine is used by many woodturners around the world including Mike Waldt and Martin Saban-Smith of Hampshire Sheen.
