A Fountain, A Blizzard, and a Family Built on Faith | Looking Back at a Picture from June 2014 ⸻ A truck driver, a schoolteacher, a cross-country journey, a Colorado blizzard, and a family built one prayer at a time. ⸻ Some photographs capture a moment. Others capture an entire chapter of life. This picture was taken in June of 2014. At the time, I was 36 years old, Kimberly was 31, Emmett was 8, Litty was 5, and Eliza had just turned 1 year old. Looking at this photograph today reminds me of a story that began with an LDS chat room, a phone call prompted by prayer, a wedding in St. Petersburg, Florida, a move across the country, a Colorado blizzard, truck driving, faith, uncertainty, answered prayers, and ultimately a life built together in Utah. In this video I share the true story behind this family photo, how Kimberly and I met, why we married only weeks after meeting in person, our journey from Florida and New Hampshire to Utah, and the many blessings and challenges that followed. The road has not always been easy. But looking back, every mile was worth traveling together. Twelve years have passed since this picture was taken. At the time, none of us knew where life would lead. We didn’t know about the farm, the goats, the moves, the children yet to come, the trials we would face, or the blessings we would receive. Looking back, I am grateful for every mile, every lesson, and every moment spent with the people I love.
