Jihadism ravaged Europe with the rise of ISIS and the proclamation of the Islamic State in 2014. 347 people were victims of jihadist terrorism on the Old Continent until 2017, the highest number since the attacks in Madrid in 2004 and London in 2005. Europe managed to subdue them, but the conflict between Israel and Palestine has unleashed a radicalization that is knocking on Europe's door in the form of a second wave of jihadist terrorism. However, a new and elusive actor could thwart a new European victory: the "lone wolf." How did Europe manage to combat the wave of jihadism that devastated it a few years ago?
