We’re back on the Mother Road! After a quick pit stop at home base to reload the gear and catch our breath, we are officially heading west of Waynesville, Missouri, to continue our epic Route 66 journey. Because this is our home turf, we started out with the ultimate insider advantage—knowing exactly where all the best, hidden-gem stops are for that authentic Route 66 experience. But once we crossed west of Springfield, Missouri? The training wheels came off! It was right back to hunting down old vintage signs, scanning the roadside, and making plenty of U-turns to catch the things we almost missed. From familiar local landmarks to classic, roadside Americana we’ve never seen before, this stretch of the highway did not disappoint.
