Bird photography in Sardinia

I spend a short trip to Sardinia concentrating on one species, the Common quail. This is the species that I regard as the most difficult British bird to photograph. At least in Sardinia they are common and finding them was not a problem. I just had to spend time driving around the fields they live in hoping for a bird to come out into the open. I do succeed, but also suffer the dreaded card error message. The OM-1 camera and 150-400mm lens were used for all the stills pictures, but on occasions I used the Lumix GH6 for video.
