In Chapter IV, the Old Camp ceases to function as the orderly "capital of the Colony" and begins to resemble a fortress under siege. After the collapse of the Old Mine, Gomez resorts to a purge, and the victims fall not only to those whose deaths are obvious from the plot – such as the Fire Mages – but also to characters rarely mentioned: Herek, the Baals, the arena warriors, and others. In this episode, I go through the list of people who die in the Old Camp in Chapter IV, as well as those who end up in the dungeons or begin attacking the Nameless One. I also reveal an interesting fact about Herek – the game "explains" his death mechanically (the lack of a guild is only visible through the camera code), a fact that has been improved in the Nintendo Switch version. However, mechanics are one thing – and I'll add my perspective and try to answer why these "silent deaths" make sense from the plot.
