Three Aussie Legends Build Ultimate Holden Street Machines| Greased n Gassed
HOT HOLDENS Three Aussie legends, three completely different approaches to building the ultimate Holden - but all packing serious punch under the bonnet. Episode 1: Pat's Big Block Beast Patrick's been living with his HQ for 40 years - from his first car as a P-plater to the 632 big block monster it is today. After blowing up three 350s (including one spectacular roadside explosion), Pat decided to go nuclear with a twin-carb 632 that required serious surgery to fit. This thing's built like a pro-stock racer but still drives on the street. Custom fuel cell, full cage, coil-overs, and enough exhaust to wake the neighbors three suburbs over. "Crops up and says, I think this belongs to you - and he had part of the engine block in his hand." Episode 2: Greg's LS Street Machine Meet Greg Reed and his '77 Torana that's all about modern muscle wrapped in classic Aussie skin. Trading up from Commodores and utes, Greg found his perfect project car through mate Steve at Boosted Fabrication. This isn't just a restoration - it's a complete ground-up rebuild that went back to bare metal. Running a worked LSA 6-litre making 475hp through a Powerglide and 9-inch diff, it's built for the street but ready for anything. From hidden bonnet latches to race-spec parts throughout, every detail has been sorted. "500 is good to have around the street - we're happy with 475." Episode 3: Alex's Street Weapon Meet Alex, the painter turned engine swapper who turned his back on keeping things original. Starting with a clean six-cylinder HR, he went full send with a 383 stroker putting out 500hp and 500 torque. This isn't your typical garage queen - it's built to be driven anywhere, anytime. Complete with air con that actually works, Wilwood brakes all round, and a 9-inch diff that can handle the grunt. From mini-tubs to custom console work, Alex proves you can build a proper street machine without the drama. "At my age now, I don't really give a shit about keeping it original. It's my car, I'll do it the way I want." Three blokes, three decades of builds, and three very different philosophies on what makes the perfect Holden. Whether you're team daily driver, weekend warrior, or modern muscle, these builds prove there's more than one way to make proper power with Aussie iron. Which approach would you take?
