Content ------------------------------------------- There are forms of violence that don't scream, don't threaten, and don't leave visible marks. They creep in slowly, like dampness in a house: first a small stain appears, then another, and almost without realizing it, you end up getting used to living with something that is deteriorating the structure. In this video, we discuss six forms of emotional humiliation that can occur in a romantic relationship: jokes that mask contempt, emotional invalidation, constant comparisons, control disguised as concern, silent contempt, and emotional punishment. We'll also explore why we often don't realize we're being humiliated. We'll see how repetition, normalization, minimization, and alternating between painful and affectionate moments can gradually cause us to lose the ability to recognize what's hurting us. Finally, we'll look at four ways to intervene in these dynamics: learning to name what's happening, observing if there's a pattern of repetition, documenting the events to avoid minimizing them, and seeking an outside perspective to help us regain perspective. Don't forget to watch the video with your own critical awareness. 0:00 Intro 6:37 1. Emotional Punishment 7:51 2. Teasing 10:12 3. Silent Disdain 11:23 4. Emotional Invalidation 13:00 5.
