DJ, sound engineer, curator, and live performer. Add some extremely tight musical taste, and you get Kathron. I’m beyond proud to showcase the new episode of Tekno Klub. This is the product that I have been chasing for the last 8 months. All the little things that I have been putting together lately in the studio, from the sound system to the lighting, to studying how I move around with the camera. It all fits together now when someone like Kathron walks in here and just blends with all the surroundings, visually and sonically. I’m not exactly sure why, but since her performance last week, I feel like Tekno Klub really has a meaning now. Kathron is a Ljubljana based DJ known for navigating the darker, hypnotic edges of techno. Active since 2018, she first emerged within the Cooltura Electronica collective and later refined her technical skills at Radio Študent, where she works as a sound engineer and curates the show Flash Forward. Her connection with Clockwork Voltage offered an important space for developing her approach to live electronic performance, further shaping her artistic direction. Her sets explore the darker, hypnotic side of techno. She gravitates towards rhythms that are both driving and atmospheric, creating a balance between raw intensity and emotional depth. With a steady presence in Ljubljana’s clubs, she continues to shape her own distinct sense of flow and sonic storytelling. This scene needs more people like Kathron, a name that resonates in the dark rooms where this music was born, not on Instagram where it is exploited. People who are completely locked into their sound and stand behind it, refusing to change when trends dictate it. I truly hope that I can connect with more people like Kathron in the near future, and I wish her nothing but the best in hers.
