Rebuilding 2nd Gear in My Porsche 996 Transmission, Part 1: Teardown

Hello everybody and thank you for tuning into FunAhead TV! In this video, we start the disassembly process of our 2nd gear synchro rebuild project in my 996 Porsche Carrera 4. This is a common issue that plagues the 996 generation of 911, where the 2nd gear synchro will wear, causing grinding when going into gear, and eventually causing 2nd gear pop out. This is the 1st part in a series of videos where I’ll be documenting the full process of rebuilding / rejuvenating my transmission to bring 2nd gear back to full health.
