📜 [Intro] Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area, located in Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, is world-renowned for its unique travertine landscapes, rich biodiversity, and breathtaking natural beauty. The site is best known for its colorful calcified pools, whose waters shimmer in shades of yellow, green, blue, and turquoise. These pools stretch down the valley like a golden dragon adorned with gemstones, winding between snow-capped peaks and lush forests—hence the name “Huanglong,” meaning “Yellow Dragon.” Major attractions within Huanglong include the Five-Color Pond, the Welcome Pool, the Golden Sand Paving, and the Mirror-Reflecting Pool. Visitors can also enjoy spectacular views of glaciers, virgin forests, waterfalls, and crystal-clear streams. The area is home to rare and endangered species such as the giant panda and the Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey.
