Hogan on the sitcom Hogan's Heroes from 1965 to 1971. His name also became notorious due to his unsolved murder. His full name was Robert Edward Crane, and he was born in Waterbury, Connecticut. He dropped out of high school in 1946 and dedicated himself to playing the drum with dance bands and a symphony orchestra. That same year, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve, where he worked as a clerk and was discharged a few years later. In 1949, he married Anne Terzian, whom he met in high school, and with whom he had two daughters, Deborah Ann and Karen Leslie. The couple briefly separated in the mid-1950s. After reconciling, they had a son, Robert David Crane. They eventually divorced, and Crane married Patricia Olsen, an actress whose stage name was Sigrid Valdis. They had a son, Robert Scott Crane, and adopted a daughter, Ana Marie.
