Scoundrel's Run Challenge Ep 22: We Rigged the Race and Still Lost

The scam was perfect. Two identical Minotaur Raiders, an illegal engine mod, a decoy parked at the finish line, and teleportation to hop between them. There was no way Bradley Northriver could win this race — and then he somehow crosses the line first anyway and takes our wagered ship as a prize. Even Boso Ta is baffled: the acceleration required is theoretically impossible. Someone out-cheated the cheaters, and now it's personal. The investigation that follows takes us deep into Avarice: deploying nav beacons on warp anomalies, dodging tides that nearly vaporize our racer before the race even starts, and crawling through a derelict observatory whose scientists discovered the origin of protection condensate — before their findings conveniently disappeared. Along the way the local syndicate tries a 7.5 million credit shakedown. We pay it, get blasted to atoms anyway, reload the save, and settle the matter with bullets instead. The episode ends on the edge of the mystery: the anomaly readings change the instant a tide hits, and next episode we're flying straight through one to find out why.
