Ekpe festival in peculiar to Umuahia people of Abia State, it's celebrated in the first month of the new year(January), it is a lively cultural festival that attract both Young and Old, Male or Female, as well as people from other state, some people in Diaspora do travel home to the various communities due to this festival. George wrapper is tie to grace the festival. In Ohuhu communities the Ekpe masquerade does not behead a goat, but communities like Ibeku, Ikwuano does like, which is the Highlight of it all.
