THIS EPISODE: (1) Viewing the old funeral lift structure off of the railroad tracks, history of the old train station. (2) Leonard Wells Volk, an American sculptor. He is notable for making one of only two life masks of United States President Abraham Lincoln. In 1867 he helped establish the Chicago Academy of Design and served as its president until 1878. (3) Robert "Bobby" Peterson, one of the victims of the Peterson–Schuessler murders On October 18, 1955. The naked bodies of three young boys, John Schuessler, aged 13, his brother Anton Jr., aged 11, and their friend Robert Peterson, aged 14, were found in a ditch in the Robinson Woods Forest Preserve on the northwest side of Chicago. (4) Horatio N. May Chapel, which was built in 1899, was designed by architect Joseph Lyman Silsbee. It is designed in a blend of Gothic and Romanesque styles. (5) George Bangs, an American businessman who began his adult life working in private ventures including printing, shoes, farming and journalism before becoming postmaster of Aurora, Illinois in 1861. During his postal career, he worked with the Railway Mail Service (RMS). There he improved the mail sorting system on trains and was the most prominent advocate of "fast-mail" express mail trains. (6) Robert "Bobby" Franks, the central victim of one of the "crimes of the 19th century" - Murder Victim. He was the son of a wealthy Chicago, Illinois businessman and was murdered when he was 14 years old after he was kidnapped by Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb in May 1924. (7) Frances M. Pearce Stone, THE MOST PHOTOGRAPHED MONUMENT IN ROSEHILL CEMETERY. 17 year old wife of Horatio Odell Stone, who was the wealthy owner of H O Stone & Co , managers of real estate and dealers in mortgages. Frances died the year after they were married and their 10 month infant daughter died very shortly thereafter.
