Behind the decoys, AN-196 Lutiy long-range attack drones slip through at low altitude and begin a 950-kilometer flight across Russian airspace. Su-35S fighters attempt to intercept them, but the slow, low-flying drones blend into ground clutter and heat signatures from the terrain below. Russian Pole-21 jammers cut off GPS signals, forcing the drones to rely on gyroscopes and terrain-matching cameras. Later, spoofed satellite signals try to push them off course, but some drones correct their path and continue toward the target. As the surviving drones approach Ust-Luga, Russian defenses respond with Buk-M3 missiles, heavy machine guns, Pantsir systems, and thermal sights. Several drones are destroyed, but a few break through the layered defense. At 04:02, a Lutiy drone strikes a Transneft Baltika oil storage tank, igniting crude oil and sending black smoke over Luga Bay. Moments later, another drone hits a second tank, while a damaged drone crashes into a loading berth, rupturing a petroleum pipeline and spreading fire across the port.
