Motorcycles Are a Terrible Idea. So Why Do We Love Them?

Why do we ride? From a purely rational standpoint, motorcycling makes very little sense. We wear armour, helmets, gloves, and boots just to sit atop a machine powered by a hot engine and a tank full of fuel, exposed to the elements and the laws of physics. And yet, for many of us, riding is far more than transportation. In this video, I reflect on my journey from flying aircraft and driving cars to discovering motorcycles, and why two wheels offer something uniquely engaging. It’s about presence, flow, the connection between rider and machine, and the simple joy of being completely focused on the road ahead.
