If the peso moneda nacional (remember, the first currency, the one that disappeared in January 1970) were still in circulation, 14,000,000,000,000,000 (14 quadrillion pesos moneda nacional) would be needed to buy... 1 dollar. Let's suppose we bundle 100 pesos moneda nacional bills, bills that were issued until 1969 (see separate section). Each bundle would be worth 10,000 pesos moneda nacional, so to buy 1 dollar we would need 1,400,000,000,000 (1.4 trillion) bundles of pesos moneda nacional. If each bundle were 1 centimeter thick, stacked one on top of the other, they would reach a height of 14 billion meters or 14 million km. So, to buy 1 dollar with Argentine pesos, you would need to pay with 2,010,916 stacks of these bundles, each the height of Aconcagua (6,962 meters).
