Dosel 10” Exhaust Fan

This fan made me undestand why plastic body ventilating fans are a thing. This fan here is a metal body Dosel exhaust fan, model DVS-10M. It's a dual voltage exhaust fan built for & sold in Saudi Arabia. From what I've gathered, Dosel sells this fan alongside a plastic body variant for reasons I can't yet figure out. This fan looks exactly like Fujibin exhaust fan sold in Malaysia, and also bears a striking resemblance to an older variant of Malaysia's UMS exhaust fans, only they don't offer metal body variants. This is a plug in & run fan with wind operated shutters. This type of ventilating fan is pretty common in India & several countries surrounding it, you're meant to plug this fan into a wall switch controlled power outlet. That culture doesn't really exist for wall mount ventilating fans down in Indonesia as 95% of our ventilating fans have pullcord controls & are reversible. This fan is built so cheap that a bit of mishandling during shipping left the pop can metal shutters & metal frame all bent up. The shutters was stuck closed when I got it because the metal body was bent so much that it pinched the bottom shutter. I managed to pop out some of the dents & straighten the frame but the shutters still won't operate smoothly. The plastic parts are made pretty well, but the close gap between the blades & motor bracket make the fan sound a bit loud. Speaking of the motor, it runs a bit hot. I haven't opened it yet, but I won't be surprised if it uses aluminum windings. I bought this fan online from someone near my city. I still can't figure out how they have this fan. I presume they bought it during Umrah, and never actually got to using it once they got home. It's a very interesting acquisition to say the least! #Dosel #ExhaustFan
