4 Short-Travel 29ers REVIEWED - Vital MTB Test Sessions

Welcome to our 2022 Short Test Session! We brought together four pedal-hungry and downhill-capable bikes that weighed within a few pounds of each other, had between 100 and 130mm of travel, rolled on 29-inch wheels, and shared similar components. Checking all of these boxes, we ended up with four exciting machines: Alchemy’s Arktos 120, Ibis’ Exie, YT’s IZZO, and Scott’s Spark. Our goal was simple - find out where this exciting category of aggressive, short-travel mountain bikes shines, what unique features set them apart, and ultimately help riders discover which bike would best complement their trails and preferences.
